The Twin V HD Bonneville® is a custom designed, 4-cylinder, air-cooled engine that was originally developed by Kenny Lyon of Bonneville Salt Flats fame for the express purpose of running on the Flats. Kenny was an original member of the former Jammer Streamliner team of which the streamliner still holds several Salt Flat records.

Kenny is currently preparing his personal streamliner which is sponsored and powered by Honda® in an attempt to run 300 mph in the hopes of re-setting the single engine record in his class.

The original design is a 4-cylinder, water cooled, turbocharged, 150 Generation Icubic inch Shovelhead® built with stock Harley® flywheels, S&S Machine rods, Arias pistons, OEM Shovelheads®, a custom 5-speed with a 21-plate Barnett clutch setup. The fuel was delivered via a mechanical Hilborn® fuel injection system and was fired by a custom electronic ignition system which was adjustable by the rider to allow for timing changes necessary as the bike gained speed across "The Flats". The V-4 Shovelhead® engine was designed and engineered to be able to run on gasoline, methanol or nitro methane and is capable of producing anywhere from 200 hp to 700 hp depending on the fuel of your choice.

The Generation III® design is built on the same basic structure as the V-4 HD Shovelhead® although the street version utilizes a state of the art electronic fuel-injection system combined with an MSD® electronic ignition system allowing the engine to produce anywhere from 150 to 300 horsepower.

Kenny Lyon and Bob Alford, one of the original team members, have joined forces and have developed the Generation III engine for street use as well as a higher performance version for higher torque and horsepower output for the dragstrip.

The engine is being developed by Bonneville Engine Co. which is owned and operated by Bob and the motorcycle is being developed by Bob's parent company PRO-STREET CHOPPERS, INC. in Winter Park, Florida.

The Generation III® is available in any of the popular bore and stroke configurations, ranging from 150cid to over 200cid.

The complete engine case is machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and is coupled to a custom 4-speed planetary type transmission which has been developed specifically for this application by Scott Owens Racing. Horsepower is transferred to the transmission via a dry, multi-disc, high-performance, Kevlar® clutch assembly.

The final drive is a custom rear belt drive, rear disc brake and wheel assembly mated to a 300 series tire.

The CAD designed custom chassis is fabricated from 4130 aircraft grade chromoly hand fitted and TIG welded to aircraft specifications to accept the horsepower and torque loads generated by the Generation III® Twin V HD Bonneville® engine.

The front fork design and rake angle can be custom built to the customer’s specifications as well as the design of the handle bars, throttle and brake controls.

Also the basic overall design of the bike such as the fenders, wheels, tires, exhaust system, as well as the paint scheme can be generated by the customer to fit his or her specific desires.

Bob and Kenny fully expect the motorcycle to become the topic of conversation and leader in design, performance, technology and desirability in the aftermarket custom motorcycle industry. They have developed this bike because they feel a market exists that is made up of customers who want something new and innovative.

The Generation III motorcycle is scheduled to be introduced to the public at Daytona Bike Week 2005. Also on display will be the original V-4 HD Shovelhead® Bonneville Salt Flats racer (location to be announced at a later date).

Design and performance specifications can be altered at critical points during the various stages of completion. Allowing the customer the freedom to make changes in the bike during the build process allows them the potential to design the bike as it is built.

We are currently taking orders on a first come basis for the first series of 10 bikes scheduled for delivery sometime in 2005.
